Today’s post contains more pictures than usual! It’s allll about engagement photos today! So I’ll try to keep this first part short + sweet + I’ll let you scroll through the photos (:
We found our photographer from the Richmond Bridal Show hosted in the fall of 2019. Flash forward a few months after finding them + solidifying the venues, we were able to sign a contract + get the engagement session on the schedule. They gave us a two hour block for two locations. They knew of the perfect location for sunset photos: Libby Hill Park. I was able to choose the first location. I chose the Virginia State Capitol because of the regal and elegant feel to the mansion. We spent almost an hour at this first location and then went to Libby Hill Park for the sunset shoot.
We were able to have a different outfit at both locations – so I opted for a more dressy look at the State Capitol, followed by a more casual look at the park. For the first look, I chose a silver sparkly dress that I rented from Rent The Runway. I was SO happy with the process. It was such an easy rental + return process. It was the PERFECT dress for our engagement photos! I loved the sparkle so much! I wanted the casual look to be relaxed + comfortable so I opted for jeans + a cream sweater with wedge booties. All of my outfit info is linked at the bottom of this post!
So without further ado… Here are our engagement photos!
THE STATE CAPITOL
I just love these stairs in the next few photos. It created the perfect backdrop for the elegant vibe + I loved how the silver dress popped against the background!
LIBBY HILL PARK
For the more casual photos, we opted for jeans but dressy tops. We took these photos at Libby Hill Park and the weather was cooling very fast so we would take a few photos + Max + I would walk around to warm up again. But my gosh, it was worth it! You can’t even tell we were cold in these pictures!
For this next photo, we waited until the sun was in the perfect spot! We would come back to this spot throughout our session until the sun was setting at the perfect time!
That’s it for now! What did you think of the locations we chose for our pictures?
