If anyone can put together a Pinterest worthy bridal shower, it’s my sister-in-law! She put together the cutest tropical bridal shower for me + I’m still obsessing over just how perfect everything was! I currently live in Richmond, VA + I really miss being in Florida with the bright colors + palm trees – so what better way to feel more at home?!
the details
The details of this tropical bridal shower made my very detail-oriented heart so happy! Everything was picture perfect. When I first walked in, there was a sign with locations important to my then fiancé + I. My then fiancé also walked me in to the bridal shower to see everyone + to my surprise, my best friend + maid of honor was there too! I was so shocked because it is quite a drive for her but it was so special to have her there!
The guest book + recipe card box were two sweet ideas to remember those who could celebrate this event with me! There was a polaroid camera for guests to take a picture + after placing the picture in the guest book, they coould write something next to their picture. The recipe card box was a way to collect recipes from the guests to give me some ideas of their favorite meals for my husband + I to try!
Let’s talk about the balloon arch + rattan chair for a second. How cute is this set up?! + look at the tiny pineapple themed Ferrero Rocher Chocolates!! I mean who wouldn’t want one of these little cuties! The balloon arch definitely brought the theme to life + the cabinet was repurposed for this event. I think I may steal this piece one day from my in-laws!!
The tables were decorated with pineapple flower arrangements (one of my favorite parts of the decor!) + an easy DIY plate setting. The plate settings were designed with 3 different stacked plates, a palm leaf, + a set of cutlery on the top. There were also pink glasses were personalized to each person.

the food
This grazing table was the grazing table of my dreams!! This table was created by Suzy from Think of Something Creative + I didn’t want to touch it because of how pretty it was all put together! Suzy is my husband’s cousin so we have seen some of the incredible charcuterie boards she has put together in the past but she really outdid herself with this table! The bridal shower took place in mid-afternoon so a light dinner was provided for everyone. There was also a tropical alcoholic mixture that I wish I had the recipe for because it was THAT good! I’ll have to find it + make it since it would be perfect for a summer drink.
Let’s not forget the cake – which was made by Nikki from Frecks Baked Cakes. This cake was a classic statement piece at the bridal shower + gosh she is just so talented! The cake topper was also made by Suzy from Think of Something Creative. Both of these vendors are local to the Fort Lauderdale area + offer a variety of options for any event!

the games + gifts
No bridal shower is complete without a few games! My sister-in-law chose 3 games to play for the bridal shower. The first was a Newlywed Game. She asked my then fiancé for his answers to each of the questions + then asked me to see if our answers matched. It was a fun game to start the night off with!
The second game was called Pass the Poem + involved a fair amount of guests! The poem was to be passed to the person who fit the saying. For example, line 5 of the poem reads “You’re all doing great, what a success! Now pass this poem to the lady with the most buttons on her dress!” So the lady wearing the most buttons on her dress was given the poem to read the next line. Whoever is holding the poem at the end won the prize! The third game was a game everyone could play + guess the ages of my then fiancé + I on a string of photos. The guest with the most correct answers also won a prize!
The gifts are always a fun time – especially since gift giving is one of my top love languages! I had some amazing gifts from our registry we did through Crate + Barrel + Pottery Barn. While I was unwrapping the gifts, my husband’s aunt was saving all of the bows to create a bow bouquet for me to hold for the wedding rehearsal! My sister-in-law said it’s a tradition in their family + more bows were added from my second bridal shower that was in my hometown!
