I am SO excited to share our save the dates with you all! I have saved this last picture of our engagement shoot because this was my favorite from the beginning!
I chose Minted Weddings for the creation of our save the dates! I decided to go with them for two primary reasons: 1. They had a great variety of options to choose from 2. They have sales almost year-round. So, I knew I could get a great deal if I created the invitations + waited for a discount to pop up on their website or in my email! I made probably 15 drafts of possible options, but this was the winner! Minted also gave us the option to add recipient addressing for FREE which was a huge selling point for me. It takes a little bit of time to organize it in the chart they have, but overall it keeps every guest organized + makes it 100 times easier than writing every address yourself. I had to write a few for those we didn’t have addresses for when I submitted the order + that alone was time consuming. Trust me when I say it is helpful!
We chose the “Our Date” design by Ink and Letter + I could place the font wherever I wanted. Some templates are only customizable to a certain extent so keep in mind, you may have to pay extra if you want a specific look. To us, the stationary is not the most important aspect or detail of our wedding. Keeping this in mind, I really wanted a simple + elegant script on our save the date. As much as foil writing would have made it POP, I had to keep in mind that also adds a decent amount of money to the list. So for us, clean + simple was the way to go (:
Tips for Save The Dates
~ Create the save the date well before you need them + wait for a discount code to go live on their site– or try placing them in your cart but DO NOT order for a few days. Sometimes companies will send you an email with a coupon code inside for an item you haven’t purchased yet. The more time you have before ordering them, the more time you have to find the good deals! Right now, they are running a promotion for 25% OFF so take advantage if you already have the design finalized!
~ If choosing Minted.com, definitely take advantage of the free recipient addressing! Take the time to organize the addresses + use that table for any guest information in the future.
~ Prioritize how important stationary is to you overall. For me personally, it was not very high on the list – but this DOES NOT mean you have to sacrifice quality. Stationary can add up fairly quickly. If this detail is important to you, then you go for what your heart desires!
~ Order your stamps through USPS to save money. Customizable stamps are a great detail to add to any invitation, but they can add up very quickly. I have seem some up to $2.50 per stamp! You can find stamps of all varieties on their website + pay the regular fee rather than paying for a customization.
