Overall, I am extremely impressed with the products they sent me! I tried Twenty 2 Nutrition’s Rooted Energy, Pre-Workout, + Collagen Egg Protein. For this post, I will focus on 3 areas for each product. Those 3 areas are: taste, packaging + powder visual appeal, and product effectiveness. Let’s get into the Twenty2 Nutrition review!
Twenty2 Nutrition Rooted Energy
Product: Lemon Berry Rooted Energy
Taste: I’ll admit, I can be very picky when it comes to the taste of a supplement. I chose to start with ½ scoop of the Rooted Energy powder in a 12 oz water bottle. The taste was spot on with the berry flavor they promote + has only a slight hint of lemon. If you are not a fan of a strong flavor, I think the ½ scoop is a perfect amount. If I have days where I need the same kick as a cup of coffee or I didn’t sleep well the night before, I use a full scoop. I am naturally a morning person, so the ½ scoop is typically what I opt for.
*Pro tip: make sure the product is thoroughly mixed by using a bottle with a weighted shaker or a handheld frother!
Packaging + Powder Visual Appeal: All of the products come in sleek white containers with the company’s clean + simple logo. I personally love Twenty2’s packaging + easy to read labels. The Rooted Energy powder itself is a dark green powder that looks very similar to a Matcha powder, so at first glance, I thought it may have been the wrong product! The company is transparent about having no artificial coloring or dyes, + I love that they stuck with that on this product!
Effectiveness: This product can be a pre-workout supplement or a substitute for a cup of coffee. With my day typically starting at 5:00 am, I like having a clean alternative to coffee! And the energy definitely stays with me throughout the day. I definitely look forward to starting my days with this supplement! Shop the Rooted Energy here!
Pre-Workout
Product: Cherry Lime Pre-Workout
Taste: Again, I think this supplement is spot on with the labeling! I would caution that the lime is a little strong in the pre-workout. I personally loved the lime taste, but if you do not like lime, I would suggest an alternate flavor.
Packaging + Powder Visual Appeal: The pre-workout comes in a tub the same size as the Rooted Energy. I noticed a customer asked about the packaging containing less product than that of other companies for the same weight. Twenty2 Nutrition states on its website that they do not include any fillers. While another company may have more “product” in their containers, it may not necessarily contain all of the ingredients customers are expecting. I personally think the containers have a great amount of product. Overall, I’m extremely impressed with their ability to stand by the clean quality of their products.
Effectiveness: Do not make the same mistake I did when first trying this product! Even though the directions clearly state to start with a ½ scoop to build your tolerance, I went straight for a full scoop for a mid-day workout. Let’s just say that for the entire day, I felt like I could rule the world hehe! However, something that I think is important to point out is that I did not feel like my skin was crawling. Although I took too much initially, I did not experience any jitters or tingling that some traditional pre-workout supplements can have.
For the next workout, I opted for the ½ scoop + I felt great during the class. 1/2 scoop was the perfect amount for me as I could push myself to stay in an exercise longer for this class + the energy did not last all day. Collagen Egg Protein
Product: Vanilla Swirl Collagen Egg Protein
Taste: OMG! This product was the one that I was the most impressed with! I was SO nervous to try this product because I have tried many protein powders + have not found one I actually like. Many of the protein powders I have tried in the past either (1) taste terrible + leave gritty residue or (2) upset my stomach after a workout. I try to consume protein powder right after a workout because it helps me with recovery. I am absolutely thrilled that I not only love the taste, but it doesn’t upset my stomach! The vanilla swirl has a lighter taste than I was expecting. Some products I have tried in the past have been too sweet, but this product is not overwhelming, which is perfect for post-workout.
Packaging + Powder Visual Appeal: The powder is light brown + has a very light texture. Some protein powders in the past have clumps in them but this protein powder was very smooth.
Effectiveness: What initially drew me to this protein powder was that it also included collagen. With all of the amazing benefits of collagen, I thought this would be a perfect supplement to add post-workout to help my body recover from the intense workout but also provide extra nourishment. I chose to do ¾ of a scoop for about 8 ounces of water + for me personally, this ratio seemed perfect! I notice that I feel fuller longer after drinking this + it definitely helps me with recovery after an intense workout. Each serving contains 20g of protein! Overall, I am very impressed with the quality, taste, + effectiveness of each of the products! But what stands out to me more than the products is the company itself. They pride themselves on the transparency of the ingredients in each + every product they sell. If the product doesn’t meet their standards, they will not release it. I have so much respect for the company!
